Grid Gambit
Control a Living Conway System in a Chaotic Multiplayer Arena
Grid Gambit is an unpredictable multiplayer territory-control game set inside a live Conway’s Game of Life. Built for the GDevelop Big Game Jam #8, you’ll battle players, survive cellular hazards, and even take over the simulation itself.
🎮 Core Gameplay
Play as a rogue AI cube on a 100×100 evolving grid. Move, paint, capture, survive.
- 🕹️ Move: WASD or ARROWS
- 🎨 Toggle tiles: SPACE
- 🧪 Watch Conway patterns shift and collide
- 🌐 Drop-in multiplayer via SpaceTimeDB
- ⚠️ Conway cells deal damage over time
- 🔫 Press F to fire a Conway Bullet
🎯 Objective
Capture 8 outer points and the center. Paint every tile, defend it, and outplay other players.
Hold any 2 outer points + the center to unlock Conway Controller Mode
One player is the Conway controller at any given time, and other players can take over control.
